Yong-Nicholas A. Kim imagine the even cooler worlds one could create w/his budget. gotta write a script.
Jamaica Fredericks I know right? If you are gonna make an all encompassing film set/ alternate reality, why would you want the setting to be Stalin-era Soviet Union? Talk about limited imagination :P
Yong-Nicholas A. Kim then again, his story does have that particular setting. still, being able to create a fake world like that, albeit temporary, would be a lot of fun. the people checking in and out, getting into costume and out, reminded me of mercerism in 'do androids dream of electric sheep.'

[Feature length film] Smoke Signals is an independent film directed and co-produced by Chris Eyre and with a screenplay by Sherman Alexie, based on the short story "This Is What It Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona" from his book Lone Ranger and Tonto: Fistfight in Heaven.
Jamaica Fredericks It can be a little dated and silly at times, but it was groundbreaking in that it was the first movie to be written, directed and produced by American Indians. Apparently it's a mainstay in film studies classes and at liberal arts colleges. :)
